Get to know Martin Lanz
Martin Lanz is a partner in our Zurich office, where he heads our Banking and Finance Group. He focuses on banking and finance law, capital markets law, and stock exchange law. His activities include transactions such as initial public offerings, rights offerings, convertibles, bond issues, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, and the structuring of employee stock option plans.
He specializes in establishing financial intermediaries and advises on regulatory matters that affect them, such as capital adequacy issues, organizational aspects, and outsourcing matters.
Martin Lanz is an authorised representative at the SIX Swiss Exchange. He was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1983 and graduated as a Doctor of Law from the University of Basel in 1985. From 1984 until 1991, he gained practical experience as a lawyer in the legal and documentation department of the capital markets division of Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS Investment Bank) in Zurich and in London. After working in an international law firm in New York in 1988, he joined us in 1991 and became a partner in 1995.
He is the author of publications in the field of securities law, stock exchange law, tender offers, and corporate law.
