Get to know Petra Rihar
Petra Rihar is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Group and our International Arbitration Group in Zurich. Her main areas of practice are domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration as well as national and international corporate, commercial and contract law. Petra Rihar has acted as counsel and co-counsel in proceedings before civil, criminal and administrative courts and before domestic and international arbitral tribunals. She has also been appointed secretary to arbitral tribunals in a variety of commercial disputes. In addition, Petra Rihar has regularly advised clients on corporate, commercial and contract law.
Petra Rihar studied law at the University of Zurich (lic. iur. 2000), the University of Lucerne (Dr. iur. 2006) and Columbia University, New York (LL.M. 2006). She joined our firm in 2009. In 2008/09, Petra Rihar was a senior associate in the International Arbitration Practice Group of WilmerHale in London. From 2006 to 2008 she was an associate with Wenger Vieli in Zurich. In 2004/05, she was associate legal counsel for The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters). Petra Rihar completed her clerkship at the District Court of Zurich. Previously, she worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Zurich, chair for private, business and banking law. Petra Rihar is a member of several professional associations, including the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association, the Swiss Arbitration Association and the ICDR Young & International.
