GAR30 2013: International Arbitration Practice Group in top 30 worldwide
22 February 2013
Schellenberg Wittmer's International Arbitration Practice Group has been included by the Global Arbitration Review GAR in its GAR30 list 2013 as one of the thirty leading arbitration practices worldwide. The firm is one of only two Swiss firms listed and is also included in the GAR100, Global Arbitration Review's guide to the world's most prominent 100 arbitration firms.
The results of the latest GAR survey were announced at an award ceremony held on the occasion of the Annual IBA Arbitration Day in Bogotà on 21 February.
In its report, Global Arbitration Review confirms that Schellenberg Wittmer's arbitration practice is "one of the few places in Switzerland where you find common-law trained advocates and counsel who do nothing but arbitration", stressing that Schellenberg Wittmer features "a team with unusual equipoise between Zurich and Geneva".
In drawing up its GAR30 list, Global Arbitration Review scores arbitration practices by such things as number of merits and jurisdictional hearings participated in the past two years, number of lawyers rated highly enough by their peers in The Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration and number of times the firm's lawyers are appointed as arbitrators, among others.
