TEP, MCJ (NYU) was a speaker at the first "Annual Forum Trust" conference organized by the Centre for Banking Studies and STEP Ticino, at the Villa Negroni near Lugano (Ticino).
David lectured on "Does Switzerland need its own Substantive Trust Law?".
David also participated to the final roundtable debate "Pro's and Con's of Adopting a Swiss substantive Trust Law". Moderated by prof. Maurizio Lupoi, the panel included banking professor Luc Thévenoz (University of Geneva), Alexandre von Heeren (chairman of SATC), Dr. Andrea Vicari (drafter of the San Marino trust law), Paolo Panico (STEP Benelux) and David Wallace Wilson.
Born in the early 1990s at the initiative of Ticino Bankers Association, the Centre for Banking Studies (Centro di Studi Bancari) became a foundation in 2009 and has since considerably expanded its activities with the involvement of trustees, insurance and business lawyers Its thematic areas of intervention are banking, finance, banking and finance law, tax, financial management for financial institutions, private and social insurance.
STEP Lugano was founded in 2006 with the dual aims of bringing together professionals from a variety of contexts in Ticino ( legal, accounting, banking and insurance, fiduciary and related areas) and of being the professional association dedicated to trusts & estates in Ticino.
