Get to know Bénédict Foëx

Bénédict Foëx is Of Counsel in our Banking and Finance Group in Geneva. His main areas of practice include secured transactions, real estate and property law, in which fields he regularly advises and renders legal opinions to clients.

Bénédict Foëx is a professor at the University of Geneva Faculty of Law where he teaches property law and secured transactions. He graduated from the University of Geneva (first degree in 1980, diploma of advanced studies in law in 1984, doctorate in law in 1986) and was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1989. He subsequently became a visiting scholar at Duke University School of Law and worked as an associate and as a partner with Geneva law firms before joining our firm as Of Counsel.

He has published extensively in the areas of property law and secured transactions as well as on banking and insolvency issues.

Recognitions

  • Member of the Swiss delegation to the Diplomatic Conference that adopted the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment
