Deals and Cases

  • Successful defense of UBS before the cantonal courts and the Swiss Federal Tribunal against a large claim brought by an institutional client for losses suffered in connection with the 2008 financial crisis.
  • Lead counsel in the defense of a Swiss industrialist prosecuted for alleged intentional disaster caused by asbestos-cement factories several decades ago and acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court.
  • Representation of a creditor in the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers (Swiss subsidiary); succeeded in securing the collocation of losses incurred on an investment in derivatives worth close to CHF 1 billion.
  • Representation of major U.S. pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration against major German pharmaceutical company regarding supply of non-conforming drug product. The dispute, inter alia, related to recalls of drug products from the U.S. market and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
