Elisabeth Leimbacher is a senior associate in Schellenberg Wittmer's International Arbitration Practice. Elisabeth specializes in international commercial arbitration with a particular focus on construction and engineering disputes and sport arbitration. She has advised parties or acted as counsel and legal secretary to arbitral tribunals in numerous arbitrations involving a variety of institutional arbitration rules (ICC, DIS, SIAC). She is also experienced in ADR techniques such as mediation and successfully passed the Associate Mediator Accreditation Assessment of the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC).

A French citizen, Elisabeth graduated from Sciences Po Paris, France (2007) and received her Master in business law (Magistère, DJCE) from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, France (2008). She also holds an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. (2009, Herbert Smith and Rotary Scholar). Prior to joining Schellenberg Wittmer, Elisabeth trained at Shearman & Sterling in Paris and worked as an associate at Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler in Geneva.

Elisabeth regularly publishes in the area of international commercial arbitration and serves on the Institute of Transnational Arbitration (ITA) Board of Reporters as the Switzerland Rapporteur for Kluwer Arbitration. Elisabeth also teaches legal French at Lawbility Ltd. She is a member of a number of professional associations, including the Arbitral Women Association, the Swiss Arbitration Association, the ICCA, the ICC YAF and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. She is also an Associate of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb).
