Get to know Sonja Stark-Traber
Sonja Stark-Traber is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Group in Zurich. Her main areas of practice are domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration as well as insolvency law. She has acted as counsel before arbitral tribunals in various commercial disputes, in particular in disputes arising from construction and engineering projects, and as secretary to arbitral tribunals in institutional arbitrations (ICC, Swiss Rules). She also represents parties before Swiss courts where her main focus is on contract law disputes, banking litigation, enforcement of foreign judgments, civil attachments, interim measures and debt enforcement.
Sonja Stark-Traber graduated from the School of Law of the University of Zurich in 2001 before gaining admission to the bar in Switzerland in 2005. Between 2002 and 2006, the year she joined our firm as an associate, she worked as a secretary and later as an associate judge at the District Court of Zurich, where she mainly dealt with debt enforcement, freezing orders, interim measures, and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments. In 2009, she obtained an LL.M. degree in Commercial Law with distinction from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Swiss and the Zurich Bar Associations.
