Recent Developments in the Swiss Law on Collective Investment Schemes
On 1 January 2007, the Federal Act on Collective Investment Schemes („CISA”) came into force. Among other things, the CISA intends to enhance the position of Switzerland – one of the most important places for the distribution of investment funds – as a fund production location. This aim was only partially achieved. It is, therefore, a positive sign that authorities and industry organisations have launched different initiatives to further improve the general regulatory environment for producing and distributing collective investment schemes in Switzerland.
