Pro Bono

Expanding access to Justice

Schellenberg Wittmer recognizes the special responsibility of the legal community in facilitating access to the legal system and to justice for those in need. Pro bono work is a key element of our responsible business strategy and exemplifies the role we wish to play in society.

In keeping with our conviction that pro bono services are a crucial component of any attorney's ethical responsibility, we welcome cases involving major social issues. We provide assistance to individuals and companies in need, and support causes of public interest.

All cases handled by the company are treated equally, with the same level of commitment. Team members on each case are chosen based on their expertise in the matter, regardless of whether they are partners, associate lawyers or trainees.

Partner organizations for which we regularly have provided pro bono services include:

  • OrphanHealthcare
  • Save the Children
  • Swiss Red Cross (Zurich)
  • United Nations
  • Martin Ennals Foundation

Schellenberg Wittmer is also represented by members of the company on the boards of a wide range of charitable and philanthropic foundations.
