Peter Georg Picht: Speaker at European Commission FRAND Licensing & Valuation Webinar

Peter Georg Picht was selected by the European Commission as an expert in European intellectual property, and FRAND licensing in particular, for their official webinar on FRAND (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) licensing. Against the background of the Commission's SEP Expert Group report and IP Action Plan, this webinar aimed at determining ways forward in the licensing of standard-essential patents.
In a session on the non-discrimination prong of FRAND, Peter presented ideas on defining stakeholder-based model licenses for the areas of IoT and 5G, on the implementation of the Expert Group's concept of a license repository, as well as on alternative dispute resolution in the area (with a special view to SMEs).
