Schellenberg Wittmer Welcomes Prof. Luc Thévenoz as Of Counsel

Schellenberg Wittmer is very proud to announce the arrival of Professor Luc Thévenoz as Of Counsel to its Banking & Finance practice. With his renowned expertise in contract law and trust law, he will additionally collaborate with the firm's Corporate / M&A and Private Wealth practices.

Luc Thévenoz, esteemed professor at the University of Geneva, is a leading figure in the field of legal academia and across decision-making authority boards in Switzerland. He previously chaired the Swiss Takeover Board. He was a commissioner of the previous Swiss Federal Banking Commission (now the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA) and a member of the Claims Resolution Tribunal for Dormant Accounts in Switzerland, an international arbitral tribunal specifically established for the restitution of unclaimed bank accounts. Luc Thévenoz has additionally contributed to legislative and regulatory projects in the field of intermediated securities, trusts, public takeover law and unclaimed assets.

In his role as Of Counsel, Luc Thévenoz will continue to dedicate a substantial proportion of his time to the University of Geneva and its Centre for Banking and Financial Law of which he is Director.
