Schellenberg Wittmer is committed to vocational training. We see basic vocational training as an economic as well as a social mandate and assume the corresponding responsibility for the professional vocational training of young people. With a high-quality training program, we create the conditions for a challenging and interesting apprenticeship. After completing their apprenticeship, apprentices can look back on a varied and exciting basic training in the field of services and administration with a specialization in law. The acquired federally recognized professional qualification, forms the basis for further professional development.

As part of Schellenberg Wittmer's "20 Years / 20 Initiatives" campaign, we are very pleased to congratulate our apprentice Rose Ghoddoussi Shahneshin on her successful completion of the final apprenticeship examination. Rose is the 14th apprentice that Schellenberg Wittmer has trained since we implemented vocational training in 1999. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rose for her dedication and wish her all the best for the future. For our 20 year celebration, Rose shares her impressions of the last three years at the firm in the following Q&A.

Q. What attracted you to Schellenberg Wittmer as an employer?

A. Their international relations are very impressive, which attracted me even more and the varied departments were also a reason. I already felt very comfortable during the assessment where some apprentices were partly involved. I admired their professionalism and could see myself in their position.

Q. What were the key expectations of the role?

A. The requirements included an efficient, precise and conscientious way of working. Among the expectations are also foresight, as well as planned thinking and acting. Suggestions and approaches are always welcome.

Q. What was the best moment during your apprenticeship?

A. One of many cherished moments was when I read the press release of a very successfully completed mandate, where I was able to provide great support to our practice team. For me, it is the little things that are especially appreciated. Like, when a partner spontaneously offered ice cream to our entire practice team in summer.

Q. How was your experience with everyday life at Schellenberg Wittmer?

A. Through major mandates with extraordinarily critical work, you learn to cope well with pressure. Adaptability and flexibility were required. Workload fluctuates rapidly whereby collaboration and positive team spirit is a must. The firm celebrates its closeness and spirit in other ways such as: communal coffee breaks with delicious pastries from the bakery, as well as physical activities such as Pilates and boot camp.

Q. What values of Schellenberg Wittmer impressed you?

A. First of all, the pursuit of excellence in all aspects: One can invest 100 % in the work, but why not 150 % if the work performance is not only satisfied but even surpassed? I also appreciated the open and respectful team spirit as well as the fact that I was not limited in my role. I was always trusted and given space to develop potential solutions.
