Caroline Clemetson has been recognized at Citywealth's 7th annual Powerwomen Awards as an inspirational woman of the year.

Championing women in the finance sector, the awards highlight female leaders who promote female leadership and celebrate diversity.

This is a particularly notable achievement for Schellenberg Wittmer (shortlisted in the creating change for women category) following its recognition in the past years as a leading law firm for women in business law.

Since 2016, Caroline Clemetson and Stefan Leimgruber together with management, have led a dedicated task force that amongst other initiatives, aims at furthering gender diversity at the firm, especially in regards to increasing the percentage of women in management positions. Results of this initiative can be tangibly demonstrated via the 2019-2020 partner elections, in which 5 women joined the partnership and 2 women were promoted as counsel, representing over 55% of the firm's total promotions for the year. With over 18% of women in management roles (vs. the 12% market average), the firm has set a precedent in Switzerland.

In 2019 Caroline Clemetson was additionally elected to the firm's Management Committee, making her the first women within a major Swiss business law firm to sit on the management board.
