Alain Grieder is a Senior Associate in our International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Groups in Zurich and Singapore. His main areas of practice are international and domestic arbitration and commercial litigation. Alain acts as counsel and arbitrator in arbitral proceedings and represents parties in litigation proceedings before Swiss courts. He has particular experience regarding disputes in the manufacturing, trade, insurance and sports industry.

Experience

  • Has acted as counsel, sole arbitrator, and tribunal secretary in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings (in particular, under the ICC and Swiss Rules)
  • Has represented clients in various litigation proceedings before Swiss courts including before the Swiss Supreme Court
  • Has represented clients in disputes involving sales and distribution agreements, corporate law disputes (including liability of directors and officers and shareholder disputes), insurance contracts, share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, license agreements, as well as the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards
